Our trip to Costa Rica was amazing! The team was like a well-oiled machine – jumping right in, working together, laughing, and getting the task at hand accomplished. Did I say laughing? There was plenty of that! Nine of us went down to help our partner organization, Funda Vida, serve the urban poor. We were there to help in whatever capacity they needed. Funda Vida runs three centers in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica . . . More Let’s start with the end . . . isn’t that the way you’re supposed to do it? Re- entry Day 1 I woke up this morning to fog horns and the train whistle. Ahhh, it is great to be back in Edmonds. Being home again made me realize that I was thankful for the little things here . . . More For the last two days we have worked at Linda Vista, painting walls and kitchens, etc., and doing an art program with the kids. One half of the team painted while the other did a series of projects with the kids. Today we switched that around. We got about 3/4 of the kitchen painted yesterday and the remainder today. The head cook, Marianna made us home made tortillas and coffee for a break and they were to die for. A cross between a pancake and tortilla . . . More |
