Even though Rwanda received independence in 1959, the political and economic upheavals continued to exacerbate ethnic tensions that culminated in April 1994 in the genocide of over 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus, within a span of approximately 100 days.

In 2003 ten years after the horrific devastation of the Rwandan Genocide, 120,000 people were still incarcerated and serving time for their participation in the massacre. With the prisons completely overcrowded and overburdened, President Paul Kagame declared that 40,000 people at a time were going to be released back into society.  These prisoners would be sent to the Reconciliation Commission for reeducation before being released and recidivated into society.

For those practitioners of the gospel, reconciliation through forgiveness is the core of our belief structure. Rwanda now is in the center of the healing and reconciliation process following genocide. Look further into the course description and objectives notated below and decide to join us in a chance of a lifetime.

Lecturers will be from practitioners actively engaged in Reconciliation Ministry in Rwanda and in the surrounding countries, speaking engagements locally include secondary schools, universities, churches, conferences and local communities, as well as national task forces.
